Change.

Today I'm thankful for...
25. God opening my eyes to things about myself I've never seen before.
26. The way He is changing my life.
27. The wonderful people who surround me and push me everyday to be a better "Me"

Stop being mean, bad-tempered, and angry. Quarreling, harsh words, and dislike of others should have no place in your lives. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving each other because you belong to Christ.
Ephesians 4: 31-32

"You can suffer the pain of change or suffer remaining the way you are."
Joyce Meyer

Change. It's the hardest thing in the world to do. For the most part, we expect others to change and adapt to us. God says we are to adapt to others. We are to adapt to circumstances, situations, and people. We need to change whether they change or not because we're going to answer to God for ourselves and not for them. I have spent so much of my life to trying to change other people. Trying to make them what I thought they should be. I have ruined relationships and friendships with my terrible attitude and controlling ways. I've been hateful and hurtful, rude and obnoxious. My harsh words have done nothing but cause more strife in so many lives. God has really been convicting me about the way I have treated people. He made us all exactly the way we are. What a reality check.  Who am I to change anyone or condemn them for anything? I am a sinner just as they are. I am striving every day to let go and let God make the necessary changes in me.

Judge not, that you be not judged.  For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye?  You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
Matthew 7:1-5

My daily walk in His grace! said...

HI Jenn - Often when I'm frustrated with my husband, I hear this little voice of reminder, change yourself and leave him to Me! Great post.
God bless

Hi Jenn...there are certain people in my life that I always asked God to change. Then one day I realized I needed to pray that God would change me and my attitude and feelings about them instead. It has been amazing how He has done this and what a difference it has made!

Great post. Thanks for sharing this.
Blessings in Him...Chelle

I agree with the two above. Early in my marriage, even though I have the sweetest husband, there were still things that irritated me and I tried to change. All that did was cause us both to be irritated and unhappy. I used to pray..."Change Him". Then one day I started praying..."Change Me". And things have been wonderful ever since. God knows how to deal with us, we just have to listen and be willing to obey:)
Sounds like you are learning well! :)
