*Thankful Thursday*

I spend a lot of time telling God what I want and complaining to Him about this or that. Worrying about this and stressing about that. I always forget to thank him. He has already given me so much. He is by my side every day, He listens to me, He comforts me, He protects me, and most of all, He sent his only son to die for ME. And you, of course. I'm so selfish in my relationship in Him. I tried to think about how I would feel if it was the other way around. If I had a friend who only called me or texted me when they needed something or wanted to complain about so and so. I'm pretty sure I would be really hurt. How selfish am I to only go to God when I NEED something or when I need to vent. This is what the Bible says about being thankful...

Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"Thank God no matter what happens" Even in my moments of weakness and complaining, I should be thanking HIM for what he has already done and is doing in my life.

Hallelujah! Thank God! And why? Because he's good, because his love lasts. Psalm 106:1

Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15

The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults and with my song I give thanks to him. Psalm 28:7

Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! 1 Chronicles 16:8

Today starts a new journey of being thankful! Here are just a few things that I am thankful for...
I am thankful that God sent his one and only son to die for me.(and you)
I am thankful that He knows what I need before I speak it.
I am thankful for His grace and that he loves me even when I don't deserve it.
I am thankful for His plans for my life.
I am thankful for my amazing parents, their love for the Lord, and their unending love, support and advice.
I am thankful that I am surrounded by people who want encourage me and lift me up.
I am thankful for a job where I get to work with wonderful women everyday.
I am thankful for the little blessings. (The right song when I need to hear it, a hug when I need it.)

What are you thankful for today?

Hi Jen - lovely, thankfulness is a great place to be and to consciously choose thankfulness over not being thankful definitely changes our perspective.
God bless and have a great weekend
